At Absolutely Cupcakes, baking is about more than cupcakes — it's about joy, community, and the simple belief that everyone deserves to enjoy dessert. Founded by Chanel, our Chicago-based bakery grew from a lifelong love of creativity and a conviction that indulging and feeling good should never be at odds. A trained pastry chef, Chanel followed big dreams and bold moves down a path that ultimately led back to joy. As Kahlil Gibran wrote in one of Chanel's favorite quotes, “Work is love made visible.”
She set out to reimagine what a bakery could be — trading rigid rules for cupcakes that actually love you back. So she started bringing them to community gatherings, and people responded in a way that was bigger than dessert. There was comfort. Conversation. A moment of lightness. That was when Chanel realized her baking wasn't just something she was good at — it was something that could help people feel better, feel seen, and feel connected.
